I’m pissed at John Chow!
Yes, you read it correctly. I’m pissed at John Chow because he’s made me into a freakin’ internet freak.
I started my blog a week ago, sharing my wisdom with the world - actually my wife and a good friend are my only readers. I was happily traipsing across the net, clicking here & clicking there, not accomplishing anything in particular. Then I came across Mr. Chow’s website, www.johnchow.com. He is a self-proclaimed Dot Com Mogul, offering newbies and accomplished bloggers alike advice on how to make money online. He claims that if you follow some, if not all the monetizing tips he provides on his site, you too can climb the ladder to moguldom - actually he’s waiting at the top for you.
In addition, he pretty much guarantees anyone who reviews his blog an increase in traffic - well, we’ll see about that.
Now, more on why I’m pissed at John. As I pointed out earlier, I’m now an internet freak and I’ve developed a recently identified disorder called OCPRCD. For those of you who are not aware of this affliction, it affects webmasters and bloggers who have an uncontrollable urge to check the page ranks of every site they visit(JCDC is now PR6).
Yup, OCPRCD: Obsessive Compulsive PageRank Checking Disorder. My blog is a week old and I’m concerned about my page rank - jeez John, Thanks.
I must admit, John’s site is chock full of other information and JCDC is on my daily must-read list, even before the Toronto Sun or the Toronto Star online editions. Besides being a confessed “Google Street-Walker” (word changed to protect sensitive readers), new papa, John also gives us a glimpse into his wholesome Canadian lifestyle.
John has also done a great job in branding, I’m sure personal mail addressed to him probably reads: To Mr. JohnChowDotCom.
I’m pretty lazy so I don’t know if I’ll implement any of John’s suggestions, except this review of course, but who knows.
Congrats, John and I wish you continued success - even though you made me into a freakin’ freak.
